\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The ensemble \u201cInkstiliuks\u201d began its activity as a folk group in 1998 at Skaudvil\u0117 Gymnasium. Since 2010, they have been rehearsing at the Skaudvil\u0117 branch of the Taurag\u0117 Culture Centre, and since the end of 2024, following institutional reorganization, they have been based at the Skaudvil\u0117 Culture Centre.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The ensemble includes children and youth aged 5 to 19. They sing calendar, children’s, youth, and family folk songs, participate in expeditions, learn to play Samogitian kankl\u0117s (Baltic psaltery), tell folk stories, play circle games, dance, study calendar customs, and incorporate them into holiday celebrations.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The ensemble\u2019s soloists, duets, trios, storytellers, kankl\u0117s players, and instrumental groups have participated annually in the national competition \u201cTramtatulis\u201d since 2010: in 2021, a storyteller received a diploma, in 2023 one member reached the national round, and this year four performances qualified for the regional round (three solo participants and six instrumental group members). In 2018 and 2024, the ensemble participated in the Lithuanian Song Festivals in Vilnius with programs \u201cPasaka apie d\u016bdsmuik\u012f\u201d (all ensemble members), \u201cLabas rytas, mergyti\u201d (featuring kankl\u0117s, dancers, and singers), and \u201cMuzika buva didelia brangi\u201d (featuring bandoneon players and dancers).<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In 2018 and 2024, the ensemble was awarded Category II in the Amateur Arts Group classification.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The group participates in festivals in Lithuania and abroad (Poland \u2013 2015, 2018) and organizes the Samogitian Regional Children and Youth Folklore Festival \u201cVasareli gra\u017ei\u201d in Skaudvil\u0117 (the next festival will be held in 2026).<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The ensemble has its own traditional kapela (folk band) (directed by Rasa Bartkuvien\u0117 and Vytautas Krencius), which features bandoneons, violins, the basedl\u0117 (folk bass), and the Samogitian drum. The band has prepared a 30-minute program \u201cDances of Skaudvil\u0117 Region\u201d, as well as programs for Shrovetide songs, orations, and games; \u201cRock Me, Rockers\u201d (Easter and Easter Monday songs, games, egg-rolling, etc.); programs for Pentecost, Midsummer, Advent\u2013Christmas songs and dances; youth and work songs; the program \u201cStories about Painkstalys Village\u201d (based on historical material collected by Skaudvil\u0117 local Dainotas Habdangas); a joint program \u201cSamogitian Wedding\u201d with the amateur theater; a bread baking education program, harvest and milling songs in cooperation with the Skaudvil\u0117 Regional Museum; Christmas Eve superstitions and customs; porridge cooking education; straw ornament and garden making workshops; active folk games program; and, together with Skaudvil\u0117 cultural institutions, a culinary heritage presentation program \u201cIm i met\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The traditional kapela plays waltzes and polkas from the Skaudvil\u0117 musicians Aleksas Jokubauskas and Vytautas Krencius.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Ensemble members regularly participate in various Samogitian regional traditional dance evenings, active folk game nights, international ethnocultural nights, Taurag\u0117 district traditional dance evenings, the \u201cTaurag\u0117 Regional Bandoneon\u201d project (2019), and bandoneon projects and camps in Er\u017evilkas (Jurbarkas district) and Kelm\u0117. They participate in festivals and events in Taurag\u0117, Skaudvil\u0117, nearby towns and villages, and community celebrations, as well as museum night events in Taurag\u0117. Every year, they take part in almost all major cultural, educational folklore, and crafts events in Taurag\u0117 district.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In 2020\u20132021, the ensemble implemented the Taurag\u0117 Culture Centre\u2019s project \u201cBandoneon of Skaudvil\u0117 Region.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In 2023 and 2024, the ensemble’s kapela became laureates of the XII and XIII National Children and Youth Contest \u201cHeritage of Traditions\u201d and performed at the laureates\u2019 concert at Vilnius Town Hall. In 2023, the ensemble organized an ethnocultural summer camp for its members \u201cFrom the Past to the Present.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 They have also appeared in television, radio shows, and podcasts: LRT \u201cDraugi\u0161ka Lietuva\u201d (2023), \u201cDuokim garo\u201d (2024 \u2014 twice), and Info TV (a documentary about intangible cultural heritage \u2014 the Taurag\u0117 Region Bandoneon).<\/p>\n
