\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The ensemble was formed in October 2019. A boundless desire to play the kankl\u0117s, sing, promote the Lithuanian national instrument, and share the heritage of the Anyk\u0161\u010diai region brought together 15 enthusiastic music lovers from various professions.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The repertoire of \u201cLaumak\u0117\u201d includes instrumental pieces and folk songs, performed on 10-string kankl\u0117s (with accompaniment), which were handcrafted for the ensemble by master craftsman Egidijus Virba\u0161ius.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Since their first performance on December 22, 2019, they have held about 20 concerts annually. Among Laumak\u0117’s achievements are participation in the Lithuanian Song Festival \u201cKad giria \u017ealiuot\u0173\u201d in the Kankl\u0117s Concert \u201cSkamb\u0117kite kankl\u0117s\u201d, the Song Festival Tour across Lithuania, the 9th International Folk Contest-Festival \u201cSaul\u0117s \u017eiedas\u201d, the 37th International Folklore Festival \u201cAtataria lamzd\u017eiai\u201d, the International Kankl\u0117s Music Festival \u201cKankl\u0117s mano rankose\u201d, the Eastern Auk\u0161taitija Folk Music and National Dance Festival \u201cAuk\u0161taitijos vainikas\u201d, the National Instrument Ensembles and Orchestras Festival \u201cTrimitatis\u201d, the 12th Lithuanian Kankl\u0117s Camp \u201cSkambantys kankleliai\u201d, the Eastern Lithuania Folklore Festival \u201cSupra\u0161\u0117 \u017evirblelis\u201d, as well as participation in the joint project \u201cBaltas pauk\u0161tis\u201d during the final concert of the \u201cPurpurinis vakaras\u201d cultural festival, and many other performances.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In 2023, the ensemble successfully carried out the project \u201cKliud\u017eiau kankles\u201d, which will continue every two years and is planned to expand into an international event in the future.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In 2024, the Traditional Kankl\u0117s Ensemble \u201cLaumak\u0117\u201d of Anyk\u0161\u010diai Culture Centre and its leader Asta Motuzien\u0117 were recognized as the Best Folk Music Ensemble and Director, receiving the \u201cAukso Pauk\u0161t\u0117\u201d award. This honor acknowledges their creativity, professionalism, and sincere work in preserving traditional Lithuanian music. The award is established by the Lithuanian National Culture Centre.<\/p>\n
