\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Diana Martinaitien\u0117 is an ethnomusicologist, expert-consultant for the Lithuanian National Centre for Culture in the \u0160iauliai region, and cultural event organizer at the Gink\u016bnai Cultural Centre.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 For many years, she taught ethnoculture and folklore subjects at \u0160iauliai University, led the university\u2019s folk ensemble “Vaiguva”, and worked in \u0160iauliai city cultural institutions as well as in the Culture Division of the \u0160iauliai District Municipality Administration.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 She is the author and long-time organizer of the \u201cPatrepsyn\u0117\u201d national folk dance competition for schoolchildren. She is also a co-founder of the folk dance music group \u201c\u0160iauliai United\u201d, and an organizer and host of folk dance evenings in the north-central region of Lithuania.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Currently, she leads “Evening Singing Sessions” dedicated to the Year of Lithuanian Folk Songs, and participates as a jury member in various ethnocultural and folklore competitions in Lithuania, including the National Ethnoculture Olympiad, the children’s and youth folk performance contest \u201cTramtatulis\u201d, the \u201cPatrepsyn\u0117\u201d folk dance competition, and others. She is serving for the seventh time on the jury of the International Folk Contest-Festival “Saul\u0117s \u017eiedas”.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Diana Martinaitien\u0117 also hosts a radio show titled “Kult\u016bros vira\u017eai”, where she regularly covers ethnocultural events and current topics.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In 2009, she was awarded the \u0160iauliai City Culture and Art Prize for her outstanding contribution to the preservation of ethnic culture and heritage.<\/p>\n
