\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The celebration began with a colorful, tradition-filled parade of participants from the \u201c\u0160iauliai\u201d hotel to Resurrection Square. The city was immersed in a vibrant sea of national costumes, accompanied by folk songs, authentic instruments, applause, and heartfelt smiles.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 During the festival\u2019s opening ceremony and concert in Resurrection Square, the audience had a unique opportunity to witness the rich tapestry of world folklore. Ensembles from twelve countries performed on stage: Azerbaijan (\u201cVatan Music Group\u201d), Estonia (\u201cDuo Paulina & Miia\u201d), Hungary (\u201cKincs\u0151\u201d), Latvia (\u201c\u0100re\u201d), North Macedonia (\u201cOteks Folk\u201d), Poland (\u201cKrakus\u201d), Portugal (\u201cGrupo Folcl\u00f3rico de Faro\u201d), Serbia (\u201cSmederevo\u201d), Slovakia (\u201cLipovec\u201d), Spain (\u201cDanzas Burgalesas Justo Del R\u00edo\u201d), Ukraine (\u201cKralytsia\u201d), and Lithuania.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Lithuania is represented by some of its brightest ethnic culture ambassadors: Loreta Sungailien\u0117, Damil\u0117 and Lukas Bagdonavi\u010dius, and the ensembles \u201cSalduv\u0117,\u201d \u201cAidija,\u201d and \u201cVievers\u0117lis.\u201d Their performances reminded the audience of the country\u2019s deep-rooted traditions and their enduring relevance in today\u2019s world.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Throughout the festival, Resurrection Square hosts a special ethno games and entertainment zone, where visitors are invited to engage with folk culture not only as spectators but as participants \u2013 dancing, playing, crafting, and creating.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cThe Flower of the Sun\u201d is not just a cultural event \u2013 it is a living testament that national identity, traditions, and heritage are not relics of the past, but a source of inspiration for today. It is a bridge between generations, nations, and worlds, uniting people in \u0160iauliai through a shared love of folklore and community.
