Originally formed by passionate and talented dancers from the families of factory employees, the ensemble quickly grew into a cherished institution. This support enabled the ensemble to flourish, expanding its repertoire, incorporating authentic instruments, carefully crafted costumes, and choreographing suites of regional dances that bring to life centuries-old customs and traditions.

At the core of the ensemble’s structure is a strong folklore school, nurturing the talents of more than 150 enthusiastic young members each year under the guidance of skilled choreographers and instructors. These aspiring artists embark on a transformative journey, beginning their training in traditional folklore within the children’s ensemble (up to age 12). As they reach adolescence, they progress into the second and first groups, where their skills continue to mature under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Renowned for their boundless energy, precise footwork, colorful costumes, and passionate spirit, the members of “Oteks Folk” have traveled the world, serving as ambassadors of Macedonian song and dance.
