On the 4th of July, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 9th international folklore festival/competition “Flower of the Sun”, the participants of the festival had the opportunity to meet with the mayor of Šiauliai. The guests were greeted by the vice-mayor of Šiauliai, Justinas Švėgžda, who greeted the participants and the organisers of the festival in a charismatic and cheerful manner. The vice-mayor presented the history of Šiauliai, the most interesting facts of the city, enjoyed the hospitality of its inhabitants, and presented the guests with a memento of Šiauliai. The participants of the festival briefly introduced themselves and talked about their country and culture.
