The ensemble was formed in 2000. It has participated in many events not only in Pasvalys but also in the neighboring districts of Biržai, Pakruojis, Kupiškis, Joniškis, and Panevėžys. Since 2003, the ensemble has taken part in all Lithuanian Song Festivals. In 2018, the ensemble performed abroad for the first time — in Poland, at the 13th International Folk Festival “Dainuoju Lietuvai” in Punsk.
The repertoire of “Tatula” includes folk songs, dances, games, circle dances, instrumental music, calendar celebrations, and work customs from the Aukštaitija region. The ensemble enriches its programs with dialect storytelling, legends, jokes, and proverbs. It has prepared more than ten thematic programs, among them: “Subatos vakarėlis”, “Žiemos vakarojimas”, “Rovėm, nurovėm linelius”, “Nupynėm varduvių vainiką”, “Dainuoju dainą, raminu širdį”, “Rugių kūlimo patalkys”, “Sulaukėm linksmo pavasarėlio”, “Susirinkam vakarot”, “Vienužio dainos – širdies patieka” and others.
