International Folk Contest-Festival “SAULĖS ŽIEDAS”

In the heart of Šiauliai city – at the Resurrection Square, the Cathedral of St. Apostles Peter and Paul, and other venues – the international folk contest-festival “The Flower of the Sun” has been bustling for the fifth day.
At the “Sun Terrace” (shopping center “Saulės miestas”), colorful concerts took place, featuring guests from Azerbaijan, Spain, and Ukraine – their music and dances enchanted the people of Šiauliai and the city’s visitors.
The concert “TO A HUMAN AND THE GOD,” held at the Šiauliai Cathedral of St. Apostles Peter and Paul, created a sensitive atmosphere with ensembles and performers from Portugal, Azerbaijan, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, and Lithuania. Lithuania was represented by well-known folklore groups and performers – Damilė and Lukas Bagdonavičiai, “Ciutelė,” “Verpeta,” “Dijūta,” “Labingis,” and “Davila.”
The concert of the festival at Resurrection Square gathered groups from Serbia, Hungary, Portugal, North Macedonia, and Lithuania. Talented ensembles appeared on the stage and invited the audience to experience the charm of contemporary folklore.
“The Flower of the Sun” is more than just a festival. It is a dialogue of cultures and a celebration of traditions.
