Folk Ensemble “Yavoryna” was founded in 1991 at the Mykola Leontovych School of Arts in Kyiv. The leaders of the ensemble are Iryna Bonkovska and Oksana Milevska, an Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine. The ensemble’s creative activity is aimed at reviving, preserving, and promoting Ukrainian folk traditions, songs, dances, and rituals from various regions of Ukraine among children and youth. Folklore Ensemble “Yavoryna” is actively engaged in concert performances and is a laureate of numerous festivals and competitions both in Ukraine and abroad. The ensemble has proudly presented the rich and unique Ukrainian culture in Poland, Estonia, Germany, France, and Belgium. Over the years, the ensemble has become a cradle of talent, nurturing a whole generation of bright performers. Among its most notable graduates—and a source of great pride—are the members of the world-renowned group DakhaBrakha.
