Hello, dear folk music friends in Lithuania and the world! My name is Rozite. From an early age, I sang folk songs, danced, and played several musical instruments. My favorite musical instrument is the kokle. I have several kokles, but today I will play the Latgale kokle made by Šiauliai master Albertas Martinaitis, because my ancestors come from Latgale. I work both as a soloist and play together with the musicians of the Riga Latvian Society RĪGAS DANČI. As a kokle musician, I have participated in the competition of Latvian youth folk musicians and have gained first place for four years. In my free time, I conduct folklore shows for tourists, kokle lessons in the World Latvian youth seminar 2×2 around the world, and folklore lessons on Latvian television, but my main occupation is at the Ethnographic Open Air Museum of Latvia. My brother Dzintars is also good at kokle playing, but today I will play alone.
