Nataliia Artiukhova – Master of traditional Ukrainian beadwork, reconstructor of ancient folk bead jewelry People’s Master of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine, member of the International Organization of Folk Art IOV WORLD.
Nataliia was born in March 1974. Nataliia Artiukhova gradually came to create Ukrainian traditional jewelry. From childhood, Grandma Mariia taught her different kinds of needlework. At first she was engaged in crocheting and needles, then embroidery. For the first time I got acquainted with traditional Ukrainian beadwork on an excursion in Lviv. These ornaments fascinated Nataliia with their originality and beauty, unsurpassed combination of symbols and colors, ancient history.
Since 2015, she has been engaged in beadwork, namely bead weaving. That’s how her first necklace appeared. The master is most inspired by ancient embroidery and ornaments, elements of which she often uses in her works. Based on these embroideries, Nataliia creates her own ornaments of Ukrainian patterns and is engaged in the reconstruction of ancient folk beaded jewelry.
For some time Nataliia Artiukhova taught in the circle “Folk Art”. Transmitting her skills and abilities, she conducted master classes for children and adults, trying to develop in children a love for national traditions. Senior visitors of the circle showed interest in beadwork, namely Ukrainian jewelry, which was the impetus for the study of ancient costumes, life and traditions, because traditions are the soul of our Ukraine and the basis of our future.
