On 15 September 2026, registration will open for participants from Lithuania and abroad to take part in the 11th International Folk Contest-Festival “The Flower of the Sun”, which will be held on 2–8 July 2027 in Šiauliai (Lithuania) and the Northern Lithuania region.
“The Flower of the Sun”, now entering its third decade, is included in the official event calendar of the International Dance Festivals Federation (FIDAF) and the International Organization of Folk Art (IOV). It is the largest internationally recognized folklore festival in the Baltic States and one of the largest in Eastern Europe. The 11th International Folklore Competition-Festival “Saulės Žiedas” plans to invite performers from 10–15 foreign countries and more than 300 performers from Lithuania.
Attention!
Registration for foreign performers wishing to participate in the competition programme will be open from 15 September 2026 until 15 February 2027.
Registration for Lithuanian performers will be open until 15 March 2027. Registration for the 2027 festival will take place online via the official festival website:
